How do we create designs ?

We usually start with an image or a reference, and develop a pattern from that. Let us walk you through some examples.

  • Patterns in nature are created through natural processes

  • Patterns can also be modeled and generated algorithmically

  • Found patterns can be purified and used

  • Triptych pattern based on the birds view of a flower field

  • Cellular structures and other growth patterns provide inspiration for our designs

  • Urban and industrial structures can also be used to generate patterns

  • A simple seed pattern multiplied many times can make a much more complex form

  • Sometimes natural and digital pattrens are similar - Voronoi diagrams and spider webs

Some patterns are more Geometrical developed around Architecture lines, while others are more Organic, based on Natural forms.

To create a custom design for projects, we can look at historical imagery and documents, to be the generators of our patterns.

Design development happens over many iterations, including sketches, digital drawings, scale models, and full scale mockups.
